Kitty still has a bit of a feral streak in him, which makes him skittish as hell. He'll stand in the middle of the room and meow for attention, and when I approach him, he runs. Once caught, he's quite a love.

It's worrying me because I know that tendency to run is what is going to cause Emily to chase him, and I don't want to end up with another paranoid schizophrenic cat that lives in fear under the bed for years. Which, by the way, is what Clio is still doing. She hasn't met the new kitty yet, because I have him blockaded upstairs and she resides in the downstairs bedroom. Anyway, I am hoping that a few more days of limited dog time will help him to become more tame and less freaky.

It's been a great day, and looks to be a lovely 4th of July weekend. I know I am a big ol' party pooper, but I am grateful for the fireworks ban, as I (and the beagle) really hate fireworks that aren't big and pretty and in the sky, shot by professionals. Or drunk Jaycees. Whatever. As long as no one I know is blowing up a finger or putting out an eye, I am cool with it.

Megan came and catnapped with the kitty and me today... we have been tossing names around. My top favorites...

Thai Noodle ("Noodles") for short
Gonzo

Noodle! Noodle! Guys, he's a siamese cat. And he's skinny like a noodle. Plus, I like to say noodle. noodlenoodlenoodlenoodle

I move to rescind my previous nomination of a name ending in "O." From this point forward, I endorse "Noodle." I can't decide whether singular or plural is more attractive... Not for any clever reason, but rather, Noodle, or Noodles as the case may be, is a brilliant name for a cat.
